
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine deepens cooperation with the national military authorities of aviation control of NATO member states and partners. At the meeting of the NATO Aviation Committee in Brussels, representatives of the Main Department of State Aviation of Ukraine shared the Ukrainian experience and distinguishing features in the field of the state aviation activity regulation in Ukraine under the legal conditions of martial law.
The discussed topic covered peculiarities of the airworthiness of aircrafts and their components, use of airspace, and ensuring airspace safety. Considering the challenges emerging out of the war unleashed by russia, close attention was focused on the organization and executions of flights, the use of UAVs, the training of flight crews, medical support and the use of aerodromes.
Particular attention was paid to the improvement of the legal regulatory framework in the field of state aviation.
– Ukraine is developing a new document on the organization and execution of state aviation flights during the special period and under the conditions of martial law. Our focus is directed on full interoperability with the Alliance. Therefore, the changes will be aimed primarily at taking into account the NATO experience adapted to Ukrainian realities, – noted Andrii Telehin, Head of the Main Department of State Aviation of Ukraine.
According to him, after the implementation of this document it will be presented to the NATO Aviation Committee to adjust the Alliance’s approaches taking into consideration the Ukrainian warfare experience.
