An investigation has been launched after the body of a man was found in a car park in Croydon.
Police were called at 09:24hrs on Thursday, 1 June to the car park of Efra Court, Homelands Drive, SE19 where a member of the public had found an unresponsive man.
Officers attended and the man, aged in his 40s, was found to be deceased.
Officers believe they know who the man is and enquiries are underway to trace and notify next of kin.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted in due course.
At this early stage there have been no arrests.
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command investigate and are appealing for anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity to get in touch. They are also keen for local people to check dash and doorbell camera footage.
A crime scene remains in place. Enquiries continue.
Detective Chief Inspector Sal Minhas, who is leading the investigation, said: “A dedicated team of detectives are working to establish exactly what happened and identify who is responsible.
“Officers are at the scene, which remains open, and I would ask anyone with information about the incident to contact us immediately, no matter how minor the detail.
“Tackling violence remains a priority, and I urge the communities we serve to work alongside us to stop violence.“
